One of the finest of human accomplishments is the invention of beer on tap. In my opinion, it’s the way beer should be enjoyed. Grabbing a pint with some friends while having a good discussion, watching a game, or just relaxing after a long day’s work, a glass of beer from the tap is an excellent reward. So I set out in search of the best places to grab a pint of beer on tap in Sunland-Tujunga.
Having pizza without beer is sort of like having hot chocolate without the marshmallows. It can happen, but it shouldn’t. Leo’s Pizza allows for this wonderful pairing with some very tasty pizza, and more importantly, the right beer on tap. Peroni, a light, refreshing, and extremely mainstream Italian beer, is surprisingly perfect with your pizza. Served in a frozen glass, Leo’s is the place to go if you want to grab a slice and enjoy the flavors of Italian beer on tap. For a few moments, you can bring Sicily to the Foothills. Ok, maybe not, but close enough.

It’s no secret that Joselito’s serves world class margaritas. We can have a “Top 25 Margaritas” list just on their margarita menu alone. Sometimes, however, a cold glass of Mexican beer is exactly what you need with your chips and salsa. Then, another cold glass with your fajitas. And maybe a third with your homemade ice-cream. You get the idea. Joselito’s has the top traditional choices of Mexican beers on tap, including Dos Equis Amber and Dos Equis Light. They carry Coors Light on tap as well. Next time you’re at Joselito’s, skip the margarita (as hard as it may be), order a cold glass of Dos Equis, head out on the patio, and voila, instant vacation!

TEE’S ON THE GREEN
If you’ve ever looked for a “hidden gem,” Tee’s on the Green may be just the treasure you’ve been searching for. Inside the Verdugo Hills Golf Course, through the Clubhouse and to your right, a wonderful escape awaits. With a beautiful patio, or what I like to call, a “beer garden,” along with a nice set up inside, having a beer at Tee’s is the closest I’ll come to the joy of hitting a “hole in one.” With a great selection of American favorites and imports, stop by Tee’s for a juicy, homemade cheeseburger and a glass of Sierra Nevada on tap. The ladies at the counter are extremely welcoming, but more importantly, very knowledgeable in their beers.6433 La Tuna Canyon Rd., Tujunga, CA 91042
AGAVE BAR AND GRILL
We’re going from course to course as we head over to the other side of our community into Agave Bar and Grill at the Angeles National Golf Course. If you’re looking for a brew with a view, Agave Grill is second to none. Nestled between Sunland, Shadow Hills, and Lake View Terrace, Agave Bar and Grill overlooks the beautiful golf course with spectacular views of the Angeles mountains as the backdrop. Almost like staring at a painting, this may be the classiest place to enjoy a beverage in our area. Serving six types of beers on tap, the view is stunning enough, but a cold glass of Ayinger takes it to a whole ‘nother level.9401 Foothill Blvd., Sunland, CA 91040 (818) 951-8771
THE CROW’S NEST SPORTS GRILLE
Imagine a place with pirates, huge televisions showing every type of sport there is, pool tables, nachos, and lots and lots of craft beers on tap. Sounds like the greatest place ever, right? Well, it’s right here under our noses. The Crow’s Nest Sports Grille recently opened, and just like that, became the champion of beers on tap in the Foothills. With countless, I mean countless selections of beers, you can try a different beer (and cider) a day, and possibly run out of days. Never mind the traditional beers, this place also has all the right imports and the perfect local craft brews to make any hipster joint jealous.
